Southbound Route 65 Off Ramp to Battlefield Road

CLOSING RESCHEDULED FOR Monday, April 27

Where: Southbound off ramp from Route 65 to Battlefield Road (ramp on northwest corner) in Springfield

When: Ramp CLOSING postponed until 9 a.m. Monday, April 27, due to construction scheduling delays.  Ramp could remain closed until Monday, May 11.

What: Contractor crews tearing out existing ramp and replacing it with a new, wider ramp.  The work also includes building a new connection from the ramp to the new southbound auxiliary lane.

Traffic Impacts: Ramp will be CLOSED to all traffic.  Drivers are urged to use the signed detours.  East detour: Sunshine Street to Blackman Road to Battlefield Road.  West detour: Sunshine Street to Ingram Mill Road to Battlefield Road.

Project Summary:

• Replace Battlefield Road bridge over Route 65
• Convert interchange to a Diverging Diamond configuration
• Build northbound and southbound auxiliary lanes on Route 65 to connect Sunshine Street and Battlefield Road ramps
• Install new traffic signal at Battlefield Road and Woodstock Avenue

Total Project Cost: $12.5 million.
