Monastery Street to close at Republic Road for six months for widening project

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Monastery Street will be closed south of Republic Road and east of Kimbrough Avenue, starting Monday, Dec. 8. No access to and from Republic Road from Monastery Street will be possible for approximately six months. The closure is necessary for the construction to widen Republic Road.

The work is part of the Republic Road Widening project from the entrance to Chase to Fremont Avenue. This project is funded by the 1/4-Cent Capital Improvement Sales tax and the 1/8-Cent Transportation Sales Tax.
