Lane Closures on Kansas for Pavement Repair

April 21, 2015

Pavement Repair Project To Close Lanes ?Round the Clock

On Kansas Expressway Between Kearney & Division Streets

Springfield, Greene County- A pavement repair project will mean ‘round the clock lane closings and traffic congestion on Kansas Expressway between Division and Kearney Streets in Springfield between Sunday morning and Wednesday morning, April 26-29, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The work will begin at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 26, and will continue until 7 a.m. Wednesday, April 29.

Because one lane of Kansas Expressway will be closed during the project, drivers can expect traffic delays especially during morning and afternoon rush hours.

Crews will cut out and remove deteriorating pavement.  Once the pavement is removed, new concrete will be poured to make the repairs.

By working ‘round the clock, the work will be done much more quickly than doing the work during nighttime hours only.

Once the project is completed, crews will move south working on Kansas Expressway between Division Street and Chestnut Expressway.

Weather and/or scheduling delays will alter the work schedule.
